Editing Timeline 07-11

Made this and thought i would share. Its not terribly accurate and i dont think i cant ever encompass the entire youtube editing community from 2007 and onwards but i tried my best and put down what i could remember.

Yeah otaku, I'd say the WOTP guys are keeping it real so thats gotta count for something. Your chart's so pessimistic lol. But as for "what's next" :

sadly enough its accurate XDD ive been here since 06,but the the first amv's i ever wathed that inspire me to this day are WMV vids and sadly enough ive been an amv fan since i was about 13? thats a logn time ago XD . They inspired me to be more scene selective and flow based rather then effect whoring.

Another thing i have noticed...is depending on who is making money, the amvs change as well...because the money goes to making the anime more important.

For instance, when bleach began to lose money because of anime such as gurren lagann, FMA: brotherhood, etc, the bleach team decided to add more fillers.

Thus, the amvs for bleach became less and less and the fma, GL, and k-on amvs went up.

All because an anime style was getting more money. Its very interesting to observe the AMV community sometimes... XD

Thats because unfortunately...its generally true. The editing community has been spiraling downwards ever since the beginning of 08 :l

yeah its true and sad. im not one to say much about it because i haven't made full vid in YEARS now.

Should i take my time and just work on a full..yes..and i am. But its just easier for me to just sit down at the comp and get the idea to do something quick for fun and post. I do this for fun and ive always looked at it as if an observer who dabbles. The community lacks original-ism. Every one wants to edit like SHinnie or RREZZ or Eagle blah-blah blah...and they just want subs. But the fact is subs aren't what makes the editor what you pump out does and that meaning has been tragically lost.

Where is the originality in that way of creating? There isnt any. Its simply mocking the bigger editors to suit your own, uncreative, unoriginal needs.

In other words...

Just because you cannot think of a good idea does NOT mean you should copy someone who has.

I agree with your chart Otaku XD I actually got into anime around 2006...and edited with nothing BUT WMV..I wanted to learn how.a.nd I wanted to just edit, I found a few old ones and man they sucked haha, but I remembered I was original on my ideas and actually could finish a full EASILY..then I met Dermarx who started Revenge Studios on youtube..and I began to use Vegas..I liked my ideas..but slowly criticism and other editors got the best of me because of the pickiness in everything *flow etc.*..and I quit in 2008 =/..gee good time I quit lol..We also had moved but yeah..now i can barely finish anything..I miss the old days when i would edit for fun T_T My favorite vid was what I made in wmv ...Naruto with Dark Side of the Moon from mulan haha.
